  • What is a “Home Watch” service?

    A Home Watch service provides scheduled, documented visual inspections of unoccupied homes or cabins. The goal is to look for obvious issues — leaks, damage, pests, or security concerns — and report them promptly before they become costly problems.

  • Are you insured and bonded?

    Yes. Heart of Wisconsin Home Watch LLC is fully insured and bonded. You can trust that your property is being cared for by a professional with more than 23 years in law enforcement and 8 years teaching criminal justice.

  • Do you go inside the home?

    Yes, if you’d like. Most clients request both interior and exterior inspections for complete peace of mind.
    Interior visits include checks on plumbing, HVAC systems, appliances, and signs of leaks or pests.
    You decide what level of access you’re comfortable with — and we’ll put that agreement in writing for everyone’s peace of mind..

  • How often should I schedule visits?

    It depends on your property and how long you’re away.

    Weekly visits are best for seasonal homes or during extreme weather months.

    Biweekly or monthly visits work well for short absences or primary homes.
    We’ll discuss your schedule and tailor a plan that fits your needs and budget.

  • What happens if you find a problem?

    If I notice anything out of the ordinary — a leak, damage, or signs of forced entry — you’ll be notified right away with photos and details.
    With your permission, I can coordinate with your preferred contractor, service provider, or emergency contact to resolve the issue quickly.

  • How do I know you were there?

    Each visit is logged, time-stamped, and accompanied by a short written report and photos, delivered electronically.
    You’ll always know when the visit occurred and what was observed.

  • Do you provide storm checks?

    Absolutely. Central Wisconsin weather can change fast — heavy rain, wind, snow, or ice can cause issues in a matter of hours.
    I offer post-storm inspections, so you don’t have to wonder if your home or cabin held up during the last storm.

  • Do you offer year-round or seasonal plans?

    Yes. You can choose one-time visits, ongoing monthly service, or full seasonal plans. Many lake and cabin owners prefer seasonal arrangements, so their properties are checked all winter long.

  • What areas do you serve?

    I currently serve homes and cabins in Portage, Wood, Clark, Jackson, Adams and Waupaca Counties — including Plover, Stevens Point, Wisconsin Rapids, Lake Arbutus, Rome and the Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes.

  • How is this different from asking a neighbor or family member to check my house?

    Neighbors mean well, but they may not know what to look for, have the time to check regularly or the insurance to cover their actions.
